Ever since its establishment in 2002, the department has registered speedy progress and offers, at present, excellent quality education with an intake of 60 students. The department has excellent faculty, well - equipped laboratories with facilities for advanced study and research and a modern Library with all latest journals. The department has been giving importance to the development of students academic and humanity wise. The laboratories and offices are well connected by an advanced LAN linking all other departments and the Internet world outside. At the institute level, excellent facilities are available in the Library, Computer Centre, LAN and Internet access, etc.. Several faculty of the Department participate in interdisciplinary subjects with colleagues of other departments. Apart from this the campus provides ample opportunities for developing extra curricular skills which include NSS, Students Chapters of IEEE, social clubs and sports & games.
